British Taxi Grand Prix
10 June 09
14 JUNE 09
308.355 km
The British Taxi Grand Prix kicked off our season of races and what an exciting race it was. As well as the glory of a podium place and championship points, we were also giving away loads of prizes including tickets to the British Grand Prix - all you had to do was finish in the top 30.
Three teams executed perfect race strategies and took first, second and third place fairly early on. The final race winner was Piperettes who walked away with hot laps around the track with Lewis or Heikki, two tickets to the British Grand Prix, a HTC MagicTM phone and Vodafone McLaren Mercedes signed merchandise!
The fight for the other top places and those all-important championship points was more closely contested and we saw some sensational overtaking manoeuvres as the race came to a close.

The British Grand Prix consists of 60 laps and 17 corners and is always an eventful race, largely due to the unpredictable British weather. Last year Lewis Hamilton stormed to a home victory in torrential rain on a slippery, treacherous track.
